Anna’s Portrait/Dance Session

I was so excited to meet with Anna last week, we were going to SDSU to shoot inside one of the dance studios. There is a part of me that wants to just let loose whenever I walk onto that wood floor, I’m just lucky their was no music playing otherwise I might have succumbed to a bit of dance fever as they call it. I’m not saying I was able to leave unscathed, but I was able to get a few cool shots of Anna before it got a hold of me. We were actually told we couldn’t shoot there about 30 or so minutes into it, which at least gave us a few good shots before we had to shut down. So far it has been better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission when it comes to shooting, you would be surprised at how many places you’re not supposed to shoot at. And here I was thinking this was a free country? haha Since we were no longer welcome inside the studio, we both headed out to the campus. I find the more and more I go to SDSU the more I like the grounds and surrounding landscape, but that could just be because there was no one there. It could be another story if it was filled with close to 30,000 college kids running around.

Morgan’s Portrait Session

Morgan and I got together last week to shoot some new head shots and a couple other fun fashion shots. We ended up running a little late so we decided to shoot in her apartment complex. I was a little weary at first, but it turned out to be a very nice place. I loved the fountain that was situated in a quaint little courtyard that was pleasantly landscaped on all sides with lush greenery. It seemed they were able to bring a little wild in to there urban complex, to tell you the truth I almost forgot I was in the middle of a city. I really enjoy shooting in little hidden areas, being able to bring to light something very few people get to see.

Lani’s Portrait Session

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Lani last week for an impromptu shoot out in Mission trails. I was a little worried about the heat and the light when we decided to go out there at 3pm, but it turned out to be a wonderful day. I’m always amazed at how much beauty I can find, everywhere I turn something new and exciting seems to jump out at me. I feel like such a kid at times, savoring each moment with all the magic that comes with it.
