Some of my fondest memories are of the holidays as a child, the excitement and magic of each moment. I think that is one of the reasons I love shooting with kids, every little thing is new and amazing. Like waking up on Christmas morning at three am just to see what might be hidden under that pine tree. It is like the world is slowly churning towards the best days of the year, when imagination meets reality. Sort of like the first few times you go to Disneyland, each step takes you to a new beautiful exciting place that you would never have dreamed of. Easter has been one of my favorite holidays, although I think Christmas still holds supreme in my books. But I know very few little boys who don’t brighten at the thrill of the hunt, each shiny colorful egg filled with who knows what. Even opening the eggs after you find them is exciting, you never know what you’re going to get. I love how just being around kids can take me back, give me a little taste of what it was like to be awestruck by the simple things. I had a great day following them around as they grabbed up those eggs. The weather was beautiful, birds were singing, kids were laughing and dancing, what more could you want?
