The lovely Dennise

On a cold December night I decided to go out shooting with Denisse, the plan was to do a more model type shoot with her. She really did a great job, you cold tell she was having a lot of fun trying new things. We both had a great time out there braving the chill winter night, the only thing I could have asked for was maybe a little more light. I’m just glad Balboa Park has a few lights on at night. If you have never been there at night you should go sometime, it really is a way different experience. I think you will be glad you did, it really is a beautiful park, day or night…20091216_7281

Jessi & Sage’s Wedding

Jesse & Sage are an amazing couple, just from watching them you can see the love in their eyes and actions. I had the honor of capturing a few of the many beautiful moments that  I’m sure they will share throughout their lives together. I half expected another normal San Diego wedding, but low and behold rain drops were falling on my head as I walked out the door. As if rainy days are not rare enough in SD, how about a rainy day on your wedding. Although I hear it is good luck for it to rain on your special day, at least that is what people kept saying throughout the day. Never could get a straight answer why, so me being mister curious I had to look it up. At first I thought it may be a reference to God and the hosts of heaven, the skies opening up and tears of joy pouring down. But as I read I found that many cultures believe rain to be a good omen of sorts, Hindu’s knew that adding water to a cords tied in a knot is more resilient, thus as you tie the “knot” a little water will make the bond that much stronger. Rain was also a symbol of fertility to agricultural societies, since rain restored and maintained the wellness of crops. Crops were peoples main source of stability and income so it was thought to guarentee a long happy marriage! There were also some parallels drawn between agricultural fertility and and human fertility, some say if it pours you better start expecting plenty of little ones in the future. Any way you look at it there seems to be a lot of good that comes from the rain, a sustaining force that we could not do without. It truly was a blessed day, I wish Jesse & Sage the best, may they have many years happiness together and possibly a big house ;) you never know???
