Nicole’s Graduation Pictures

Isn’t it funny how no matter how hard we try avoid it, we always seem to clip a wall when we walk by. I have always believed in leaving a little extra time here and there for those little things that seem to pop up unexpectedly. Although my time was a little tighter than I would have liked, I still felt comfortable with what I had. But that was until I decided to leave my memory cards at home, which of course I didn’t realize until I got to Balboa Park. This was actually the first time I left my memory behind, I don’t plan on doing it again ;) Maybe it was just me hurrying out the door because I had to drop a friend off at the airport, little did I know that she would leave her cell phone in the car when I left. I got most of the way to Balboa when I started getting messages  from FaceBook and email begging me to return her phone. Being the Amazing that I am I quickly did a u-turn and headed back the way I came. Let me just say she was quite grateful, she even brought me a little gift when I picked her up the next week. I am the proud new owner of a foldable pen, it even has my name on it :) I’m so lucky… Nicole was great though, she was very understanding, she even went to Fry’s with me to get a new memory card. Even with a few hiccups here and there the day turned out beautifully, gorgeous park+pretty graduate= great pictures :D

Katie’s Photo Shoot 2

Katie’s photo shoot turned out way better than I thought it would. I’m so glad I went up there even though my first instincts were to postpone until the weather looked better.  After spending a little time cruising the area, we found ourselves at Live Oak Park. After walking the grounds for a few minutes we decided that this was our best bet, there was no need to waste anymore time looking. I really loved the little nuances of the park, I think it really gave the pictures a lot of character. The park was actually quite small, good things can definitely come in small packages.71

Katie’s Photo Shoot 1

Do you ever just have one of those days, everything works out even though it looks like it will fail. I think it actually happens a lot more than I would like… lol. But it does keep you guessing and striving to turn a seemingly bleak scenario into something beautiful. Two weeks ago I was faced with one of those days. Katie and I had been talking about shooting together for some time, it just never seemed to work out. Now when we finally decided to get together it seemed the weather might have other things in mind. After an hour drive I found myself in a quaint little rainy, wind swept area in Fallbrook. I was disappointed about possibly not being able to shoot, but I was still looking forward to meeting Katie for the first time. So I can’t say I felt the day was going to be a total waste. As it turned out the sky cleared up after an hour or so, the clouds parted, the birds sang and the sun peeked out. I guess you can never trust those weather men, or count your chickens before they hatch.
