I had an amazing time second shooting for Teale Photography on the 4th of July. I’m still blown away by how much I love to work at weddings, to just be there and experience one of the most important days of a couples life together. There is something beautiful about a love that brings two people together from across the globe.

Last week I was blessed to go out and shoot with Paige & Anthony out in the sticks of East County. Paige (a fellow San Diego photographer) and I have been talking about setting something up for a while now, so far it had never worked out. It’s always exciting to go out and shoot with another photographer, although it can be a little more nerve wracking. The days leading up to the session were some of the hottest we have experienced this summer. I was so grateful for the clouds that suddenly rolled in a couple hours before the shoot, it was still a hot day but now it was manageable. We even got a little rain here and there, definitely not our normal sunny San Diego weather. As we walked into the woods we were attacked by all the little bugs and critters flitting about the stream that ran thru the trees. Creepy crawlers aside the fauna was beautiful, with a wonderful mix of greens and yellows all around us. I would definitely go there again, I just might invest in a can or two of bug spray…

Adam and his family were so much fun to shoot with, although I did have to work now and then to get the kids attention. The little ones always seemed to find something that would peek their curiosity, their gaze would just drift away while I was taking pictures. It’s understandable though, there are so many crazy things going on down in Balboa Park. From live music to street performers, it’s hard for me to compete with that kind stuff. I love how children are so interested in the little things, the stuff us bigger kids have forgotten. Whether it is a little red lady bug or a balloon, there is a simple magic in everything they come in contact with. I guess that is one of the reasons I love working with kids, they help me slow down and see how beautiful the world really is. How even the smallest insignificant thing can hold such wonder, a power all it’s own.
